PILATES -

A low impact workout to strengthen your entire body from the inside out. These classes, all done on a mat, will include a combination of strength and flexibility exercises using full body resistance training. Pilates promotes mobility and strengthens all the major muscle groups with a key focus being on the deep core muscles, back and glutes.

This class is ideal for those just getting into their fitness routines, individuals that have had low back pain as well as athletes for cross training. You must be able to get up and down off the floor for this class.  

You should bring a yoga mat and sweat towel for this class.

YOGA YIN -

This is a calming class with little stimulation with poses held for longer periods of time. There are no down dogs or chaturangas in this practice.

The three principles in a yin yoga practice are:

Come into the pose to an appropriate depth.

Resolve to remain still.

Hold the pose for time.

The postures we hold, mostly all floor poses, apply moderate and beneficial stress to the connective tissue of the body, the fascia, tendons and ligaments.

This practice will result in improved circulation in the joints and muscles, a calming effect for the body and mind and help cultivate self awareness. Brittany is a firm believer that yin yoga can help change people lives when practiced weekly.

Yin yoga is for all levels. It brings balance to our busy lives and minds. If you are tired, stressed, busy, training hard, going through a difficult time, anxious or sore - yin yoga is for you. You must be able to get up and down off the floor for this class.
